吴卓玲以其传奇般的个人经历和杰出的才华成为独立音乐界中标志性的女性艺人之一。她集民谣唱作人、电子乐团主唱、音乐制作人、翻译作者、运动员等多重身份于一身,长年活跃于国内外独立音乐的舞台上。吴卓玲与全世界各类音乐人、制作人和艺术家有过合作,数次在中国各地及欧洲巡演,到目前为止已在*影响力的独立音乐厂牌发表了7张风格各异的专辑/EP,获得了各类重要音乐大奖(如“年度*女艺人”和“年度*电子专辑”等)的提名。除了创作自己的作品外,她也为一些国内新生独立音乐人的担任制作人和混音师。经过多年的沉积和磨砺,她逐渐形成了极具个人色彩的音乐风格。她的原声音乐清新自然,悦耳脱俗;而她的电子乐则厚重迷幻。阴沉猛烈和恬静淡然的情绪在她的作品中交替出现,层层叠加的氛围和灵动节奏意在与听者建立起深层次的灵魂上的交流,相较与主流的民谣、流行乐或电子舞曲,她的作品更具艺术化。她的歌词写作也自成一派,从魔幻故事,到写实叙事,再到充满心理意象的散文诗句,大多简洁细腻,前后呼应,表现出一种女性化的优雅而冷静的视角。


With her legendary personal experience and outstanding talent, Wu Zhuoling has become one of the iconic female artists in the independent music scene of China. She combines many roles into one: a singer-songwriter, a musician, the front woman of the livetronic band Wednesday’s Trip and a music producer, who has always been active in performing music live on stage. Her first album “Secret Mission” was made with Wednesday’s Trip and was issued in 2005 , but then she quit the band and moved to Tibet. After two years of reclusive life she returned to her home town Chengdu and restarted her music career, refining her personal style and cooperating with various musicians and artists. She toured all over China and part of Europe, with 7 albums/EPs issued so far by the most influential indie labels in China, and was nominated many times by all sorts of music prizes such as the Best Female Artist and the Best New Electronic Album of The Year, etc. She had also composed and performed music for the theatre play “13 Million Single Bathtubs” by Taiwanese director Xu Sixian, and engaged in a long distance cooperation with the Dutch media designer You Echo. Besides her own works, she also produced and mixed albums/EPs for other Chinese indie bands and a hip hop/jazz act. Through years of experience she gained a deeper understanding of music and gradually developed her own characteristic style. Whether her refreshing acoustic songs or her acid dark electronic pieces are both trying to touch the audience deep in their soul. The elegant melodies, deep and warm vocals, story-telling lyrics from a female perspective and the mystic tranquil atmosphere always endow her music a pure and unique quality.

造物主创世之初,曾说“要有光”,于是便有了光。*我们已经知道,光是能量的一种形态。它呈现出万千色彩,给予万物生机,也是衡量宇宙观空间的基本单位。光几乎无处不在,但HALO(光晕)却不常见到,不论是佛光、日晕、月晕、还是绘画中环绕在菩萨圣人头顶的光轮,甚至每个生灵自带的肉眼不可见的能量晕轮,都是稀罕的现象,带着一股神秘色彩。

 

至于说为什么这张专辑叫做《HALO》,表面上是因为专辑里有一首曲子叫做“HALO”;至于说为什么那首曲子叫“HALO”,那是因为某年夏天我亲眼目睹了一个异常鲜艳的日晕,它的横空出现引发了我的深入思考和创作灵感。正如五岁时的夏夜,我亲眼目睹了一只螺旋状的UFO掠过田野上空消失于远方,从而引发了我这一生对于神秘之物的强烈兴趣。这种倾向也逐渐体现在我所做的音乐中,从Trip-hop的叛逆躁动到民谣的写实叙事,再到愈来愈抽象深邃的电子乐。一路走来,我发现有些音乐是能够从直觉层面引发情绪共鸣,直达内心的。这类音乐已无需歌词的支撑,它仅仅*是一种感知,对于旋律、音色、节奏、排列组合方式等各种声音能量的感知;更直接、更复杂、也更具神秘气质。除它之外我找不出更好的方式来描述类似HALO这种神奇美丽的异象。

 

这张专辑除了同名曲子之外,还收录了2012-2017年来各个时期创作并筛选出的作品。在经历了漫长而曲折的后期制作后,终于有机会面世。但对于音乐人来说,随着时间推移,音乐之路的演化和推进是不会停止的。到了2019年,我决定带上《HALO》这张专辑上路巡演,想要展示的早已不是11年前*次独自巡演时一把吉他走天涯的游吟歌手状态,也不是4年前和“星期三旅行”一起巡演时的独立电子乐队主创歌手的形象,甚至也不完全是《HALO》这张专辑里体现的音乐风格和演出方式,而是此时此刻的真实自我,用更新的一套技术和设备来演绎我目前对于音乐的理解。

 

在此,我必须要感谢让这一切得以实现成行的诸多给予无私帮助和支持的朋友,包括毛毛、岳璇、KUN、凤岭等音乐人,还有平面设计师黄海鸥、发行公司门唱片、主办这次巡演的“小计划”以及巡演各站的优秀嘉宾音乐人。我希望能用自己所做的*的音乐和演出现场来回报你们,同时也希望能给所到之处的了解我或者完全不了解我的观众送去一段新鲜的体验。


At the beginning of the creation the Creator said "let there be light," and there was light. Today we already know that light is a form of energy. It presents thousands of colors, gives life to all living beings, and is also the basic unit for measuring the universe. Light is almost everywhere, but a HALO is not common. Whether a solar or moon halo, the light aura that surrounds the head of the Buddha in paintings, or even an energy halo of a living being that is invisible to the naked eye - a halo is a rare phenomenon with mysterious colors.

 

One summer day, when I saw an unusually bright solar halo, its abrupt appearance triggered my creative inspiration for the song "HALO", which later also served as the name for the whole album. It reminded me of another summer night when I was five years old and witnessed a spiral UFO passing over the fields and disappearing into the distance. This surreal experience sparked a strong interest in me for the mysteries of the world surrounding me and has been an influence on me ever since. This tendency is also gradually reflected in the music I have made, from the rebellious impetuosity of Trip-Hop to the realistic narrative of folk songs, and then to the much more abstract and deep electronic music. After all this time, I found that some music can trigger emotional resonance from the intuitive level and directly reach the heart. This type of music is no longer supported by lyrics. It is just a kind of perception of various sound energy such as melody, tone, rhythm, arrangement and combinations; It’s more direct, more complicated, and more mysterious. Apart from it, I can't find a better way to describe such a beautiful anomaly like a HALO.

 

In addition to the eponymous song, this album also includes works created and selected from various periods from 2012 to 2017. After a long and tortuous producing phase, Finally it’s time to bring these works to the audience. But for musicians, the evolution and advancement of their musical path will not stop with time. In 2019, I decided to go with the album "HALO" on tour to show that I have come a long way from being the singer/song-writer going on tour the first time 11 years ago, but also that even the sound of my independent electronic band project Wednesday’s Trip is not anymore the music style and performance mode embodied in the album "HALO". The music I will perform on this tour is influenced by my musical development path, but will represent my real self at this moment in time, with a refined set of techniques and equipment to interpret my current understanding of music.

 

I also want to extend my sincerest gratitude to all of my friends who have helped and supported me to make this happen, including Mao Mao, Yue Xuan, KUN, Feng Ling and many other musicians, as well as graphic designer Huang Hai Ou and the publishing label MEN Records. The whole tour will be presented by "Small Projects" and some outstanding guest musicians will join me at various stops. I am excited to present my works and hope that everyone in the audience, whether they know me and my background or even never heard of me before, will enjoy the performance, and that I can give them a fresh experience of what my music is about.

上海音乐学院毕业。以声音艺术为主,演出方式多以live set搭配DJ set. 是PLFD电子音乐厂牌的核心成员,共同推广电子音乐,以及他独爱的古典音乐和世界音乐。LD_ning同时也和多位艺术家合作踏入空间艺术,电影,装置艺术等领域。


他的个人作品被收入在燃音乐旗下舞曲厂牌RAN Groove vol.7以后,他的风格愈发饱满,克制,酸性。他在deep tech ,tech house,techno之间游离。也汲取了new age,new classical的精华。他将世界音乐和山水云端的温润敏感,融入肥厚精妙的律动中创造出属于他的场景和画面。


“小计划”对卓玲的简单问答采访——


问:《Halo》这张专辑即将面世,能分享一个专辑创作的过程中遇到的有趣瞬间吗?

 

答:本身创做音乐*是非常有趣的一个过程。从抓住灵感开始,到构思,各种尝试,音色的打磨,到*后混音完成后期,每一步都很有意思,也很磨人。我觉得做音乐有一部分要靠运气(天份算在内),有一部分靠经验,有一部分靠毅力,是各种因素的综合结果吧。这张专辑里有些歌的创作非常迅速,比如“Rainy Night”,“Forest Dream”和“A Glimpse of The Future”那几首,从动机到成型基本上*是几个小时里完成的。尤其是“Rainy Night”那首,当时只是随性地玩一些音乐,恰逢3、4月间成都经常下夜雨,我在房间里听到外面嘀嘀嗒嗒的雨声,*自然地选用了类似的合成器音色,整个音乐的画面感也都依照了当时外部环境。我觉得这种带纪录性质的音乐创作*挺有情趣的。

 

问:从Trip hop民谣、再到电子乐,可以说音乐的探索挺深了,对今后的发展方向有什么计划吗?

答:我估计今后的重心应该更多地在制作方面。我很喜欢世界音乐和氛围音乐,还有影视配乐,这些方面我希望以后能有机会多尝试。

 

问:除了做自己的音乐之外,平时还有其他事务吗?

答:我也经常帮其他的音乐人制作他们的作品,不管是录音,编曲还是混音后期处理,差不多每年会有2,3个项目是为其他音乐人服务的。这对我自己做音乐也会有很大的提升和帮助,能让我开阔思路,学习新技能,同时也帮到了我欣赏的音乐人朋友。除此之外,我也和诸多好友创办了“小计划”这个活动主办方。不定期的(平均一个月一场)举办一些多样化的音乐交流活动,比如电子音乐派对、livehouse演出、声音实验装置、世界音乐等。目的是想给成都乃至能多城市送上更优质的多元化的另一种活动选择。另外我还偶尔给两散个学生教授音乐制作。

 

问:距离你的上次巡演已经过去好几年了~对你来讲巡演的意义是什么呢?

答:我认为巡演更像是一个阶段性的总结,可以把自己在某个阶段已经比较成熟的一批作品和演出集中地在各地舞台上展示,对于音乐人来说也是一项能力与体力的挑战。我*次真正意义的巡演是2008年,也是自己一个人上路,感觉很新鲜刺激,偶尔也比较寂寞,很多时间*是面对自己内心。这是很难得的让自己沉静下来的机会,所以我很喜欢一个人巡演的状态,*像独自一人旅行,行程全由自己安排,比较随性。和乐队一起巡演又是另一种感觉,也特别有意思,我觉得巡演是增强团队凝聚力的*的方式。

 

问:如果用三个词来形容近两年的自己,会是哪三个词呢? 

答:探索、提升、积极。选了三个positive的词:)来概括近两年各个方面的一些变化。比如探索新的音乐创作方式,新的工具,新的表演模式,和新的风格类型的音乐人合作等等。同时*近两年我的生活品质和音乐品质(自认为)都有了提升。这两方面的结果*是整个人的心态上显得更积极,愿意主动去寻求新鲜玩法,乐于和不同的团队合作,迎接新的挑战……

 

问:在巡演介绍中“神秘”好像是一个挺有份量的词汇,那么卓玲平时生活中有没有什么与神秘相关的小癖好呢?

答:癖好可能说不上,对神秘事物的特别关注肯定是有的。比如从小*喜欢看《飞碟探索》,也非常着迷于科幻小说和影视。曾经特别关注“地外文明、史前文明、玛雅人、超能力、平行宇宙、巫术……”所有这些神秘学范畴内的话题。我也会关注每年的风水轮换,在家里做相应的调整,还做过一些能量塔这种小装置在家里摆放。
