Cory Henry is among modern music’s most inventive minds. While mastering multiple instruments at a young age, he commands the stage while performing in cities and festivals around the world including Okeechobee, Electric Forest, North Sea Jazz, Love Supreme Festival and many more. Cory, a former Snarky Puppy member, is rising to the top as a solo artist with his first independent release entitled “Art of Love” garnering critical acclaim. The project opened doors to work with Lauryn Hill, Frank Ocean, J. Cole, Vulfpeckand many more. He was also selected by Quincy Jonesto headline his curated “Soundtrack of America” series opening of The Shed in NYC.

A rising keyboard master, bandleader, composer, and GRAMMY-winning former member of Snarky Puppy, Cory Henry has performed with artists ranging from Kenny Garrett and Robert Glasper to Bruce Springsteen. His 2014 release, First Steps, went to #1 on the iTunes jazz chart, and following his audacious, autobiographical 2016 sophomore project, The Revival, Henry returns with his new album featuring his Funk Apostles band, Art of Love.

A prodigious musician and Brooklyn native who began playing Hammond organ at the age of two, Henry performed at Harlem’s famed Apollo Theater as a six-year-old, while honing his musicianship in church. Established as a veteran by his teens, Henry branched out into secular music and quickly found a home as an in-demand instrumentalist, touring the world with saxophone giant Kenny Garrett by 19. He’s was a core member of bassist and bandleader Michael League’s funk juggernaut Snarky Puppy, winning GRAMMY awards with them in 2014 and 2016, eventually striking out as a bandleader with the hard-driving Funk Apostles. With a style owing more to idols Oscar Peterson and Art Tatum than the typical Hammond organ heroes who preceded him, Cory Henry has captured the imagination of music fans of all stripes, creating an alchemy of gospel-inflected R&B, funk, jazz, and global influences that move the body and touch the soul.
