在过去20年间，Kosins共发行了5张个人专辑。在与制作人及编曲人Kamau Kenyatta（Gregory Porter的长期制作人）的合作中，她回归至自己被灵魂音乐所注入的根源，完成了自己的第6张专辑《Uncovered Soul》。Kosins标志性的沙哑声，将听众通过她60、70年代在底特律生活的情景带入一场有动力的音乐旅程。她迎合了爵士与灵魂乐迷们共同的口味，演唱出了迄今为止*激烈、*亲切的歌声。她用自己完美无瑕的措辞方式和热情的故事叙述惊艳观众。

Detroit vocalist and ASCAP award winning composer Kathy Kosins, is one of the nation’s most hidden treasures in music today and considered "the real deal", by press and peers alike. Her eclectic musical palette delves deep into the rich history of both Jazz and Soul.

Over two decades and five albums under her belt, Kosins circled back to her soul-infused roots, in collaboration with producer/arranger Kamau Kenyatta, (the stellar longtime producer of Gregory Porter), for her 6th release, "UNCOVERED SOUL." Kosins' signature smoky voice is in prime form and takes listeners on a dynamic musical journey through the sonic landscape of her native Detroit through the 1960's and 1970's. Catering to both jazz and soul aficionados, she delivers her most intense and intimate singing yet and wows audiences with her impeccable, flawless phrasing and a deep-rooted passion for telling the story.

Subsequent singles and re-imaginations of songs found on the album, are currently being released to both soul and jazz radio platforms every other month and have continued to hold chart positions in the top 10, including being A listed on Jazz FM, London, biggest climber, Soul Connoisseurs chart, The Smooth Jazz Networks Top 100 chart and Indie Artist of the week on the Official Indie Soul Chart.

Kosins' contributions to the contemporary music scene cannot be overstated. In 1996, Kosins collaborated with both LA and New York based writers and composed a collection of jazz tunes, with the intent of selling them to already recognized jazz artists such as Dianne Reeves and Diane Schuur. However, Michigan-based indie label Schoolkids Records discovered this repertoire, and, impressed and mesmerized by Kosins' soulful voice urged her to record and release the material under her own name. It was then that Kosins' prolific jazz career began to take shape.

In 1996, Kosins debut, "All In A Dreams Work" was released and placed in the top 20 in the Gavin Report. Kosins went on to release more critically acclaimed recordings including 2002's "Mood Swings" (Chiaroscuro Records), 2006's "Vintage" (Mahogany Jazz), 2012's "To The Ladies Of Cool" (Resonance) and 2013's "The Space Between" (Mahogany Jazz).

When not touring the USA or Europe, Kathy excels as a painter. Her abstract acrylics on canvas are influenced by the cubist paintings of the 50’s. Commissioned paintings are held in private collections and Kosins continues to sell her work at both gallery shows and concert performances. She is known to paint as a multi media artist from the stage during her performances.

A past recipient of the Michigan Council for the Arts (Jazz Composer of the Year), Kosins has received grants from Michigan's Art Serve advocacy group. Her clinics and workshops teach performance skills alongside business strategies for the independent artist and have been a success at over 200 colleges and universities across the USA.
