Trumpeter Dominick Farinacci has been recently credited the title Global Ambassador to Jazz at Lincoln Center by Wynton Marsalis, working to further integrate jazz into communities around the world. He graduated from The Juilliard School in 2005 launching his career in Japan with a prolific run of eight albums, later releasing two more globally. He has performed in more than 120 cities in 14 countries around the world, was a featured guest on ABC’s Good Morning America, and is a TED Speaker. Music icon Quincy Jones says of Dominick’s accomplishments in performance, recording, education & advocacy, “This kid is 360 degrees!”

His most recent recording “Short Stories” is produced by Tommy LiPuma. This is Tommy & Dominick’s first collaboration, and was recorded in their hometown of Cleveland at the Tommy LiPuma Center for the Arts. “Short Stories” brings together popular songs from around the globe surrounded by some of the greatest artists in music, and was made possible in part by generous support from NOIA. It is scheduled for worldwide release in 2016.

In addition to touring around the world with his band, Dominick has been successful in his personal endeavors on bringing music into the community through Arts and Wellness & Education. He was invited by TED to be a TED Speaker at the 2014 TED MED conference at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. He is a featured performer for the Cleveland Clinic in both Ohio and Abu Dhabi, and organized the very first jazz performance for patients in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic and the Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation. For Dominick, music and health go hand in hand, most recently organizing panel discussions around patient-doctor communication through music with Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar.

Dominick has been a leading advocate in music education development, most recently featured at the Community College Association of America in D.C. He served as Music Consultant to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, and initially launched a music education program at the Tommy LiPuma Center for Creative Arts in Cleveland, Ohio, which brought together 30+ international artists involving over 3,000 students. This successful initiative has since expanded to the GCC, in schools such as Weill Cornell Medical College, Qatar Music Academy, the American School of Doha among others.

Jonathan Michel Biography

Born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut Jonathan Michel is a bassist, composer and arranger of Haitian descent. Based in New York City, Michel is an eclectic artist known for his work as a producer and arranger, as well as performances all over the world. Some associated acts include Billy Paul, Laurin Talese, Soul Science Lab, ELEW, Orrin Evans and Etienne Charles.

Lucy Woodward Biography

Born in London, Lucy spent her childhood in New York and Holland. She is the daughter of two classical musicians - her father a conductor and composer, her mother an opera singer, musicologist, teacher and bellydancer. No matter which household she was living in, she was “always music-making and creating.”

Fresh out of school, she was singing jazz in NYC’s West Village for tips, singing in cover bands and writing songs before signing with Atlantic Records (2003) —a time period that saw her score a Top 40 hit with “Dumb Girls” and another Top 5 hit she wrote for Stacie Orrico called “(There's Gotta Be) More to Life’, earning her 2 BMI Awards. With her debut record in tow, she toured the US, Japan and New Zealand and appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

But Woodward had no desire to be a pop starlet: her follow-up, the jazzier, punchier indie record Lucy Woodward is...Hot and Bothered was released in 2008 which “she new light” on music-making again. Hot and Bothered was inspired by her days at Manhattan School of Music, lots of Etta James and the 1967 classic animated film The Jungle Book bringing her back to her bluesy roots. Billboard described how “Lucy's a ball, equally appreciable for fans of melodic sing-along baubles and highbrow aficionados of finely honed musical composition. A sonic turnstile that flips through dreamy pop, jazz and bluesy bebop”.

This, in turn, was followed by Hooked!, an album of Brill Building meets Big Band songs, released on Verve/Universal (2010) -- which was largely produced by Tony Visconti (David Bowie). The album effortlessly moves across multiple genres, including gypsy-swing, jazz and rhythm & blues. Along with her self-penned compositions, the album showcases Lucy’s stunning covers of Peggy Lee’s Cuban-inspired “Sans Souci” and an a cappella Hoagy Carmichael classic, “Stardust.” Nellie McKay, who Lucy had always been a hardcore fan of, wrote a song for her called “Another Woman” which Lucy recorded on Hooked! as well (featuring Nellie on background vocals).

Quincy Phillips Biography

Quincy Phillips is a drummer, pianist, an organist at his home church, East Baltimore Deliverance, who holds his B.A. in Music from the prestigious Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Phillips is no stranger to the music industry, having spent more than 30 years cultivating his passion as a musician from childhood through his adult years. Phillips had the great honor to perform for the President of the United States Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for the “Smithsonian Salutes Ray Charles: In Performance at the White House.” The evening included performances by the Christian McBride Big Band, Yolanda Adams, Leon Bridges, Andra Day, Anthony Hamilton, Demi Lovato, Sam Moore, The Band Perry, with Rickey Minor as executive music director.

Phillips won 1st place for Jazz Composition for his arrangement of “Alone Together” at the IAJE conference in NYC and is a member of Grammy award winning Christian McBride Big Band. Currently he’s been touring with two world renowned musicians and composers—Roy Hargrove and Christian McBride.

Taber Gable Biography

Taber Gable brings as many influences to the piano as possible. At a young age, he started enjoying and applying many different styles of music, which included Jazz, Gospel, R&B, Soul, and many more. Taber started playing piano at the age of 9 in church and has since went on to receive a Bachelors in Jazz Studies from the University of Hartford where he had the opportunity to study with Andy LaVerne, Steve Davis, Rene McLean, Javon Jackson, Nat Reeves. He recently graduated the Juilliard School with his Masters in Jazz performance where he studied under Kenny Barron, Wynton Marsalis, Kenny Washington, and many more notable teachers.

Taber Gable has had the opportunity to play alongside many great musicians in the last few years such as Javon Jackson, Steve Davis, Nat Reeves, Abraham Burton, Jeremy Pelt, Jimmy Greene, Donald Brown, Eric McPherson, Freddie Hendrix, Nicholas Payton, Ben Wolfe, Peter Bernstein, Terrace Martin, Joe Farnsworth, Myron Walden, and many more. These are just a few names to what is hopeful to be a continually growing list as he grows, matures, and continues his musical journey.
