John Chin currently lives in Brooklyn where he’s been a presence on the New York jazz scene since 1998. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Blue Note, and many other venues around the world. At 14 years old, he began his collegiate studies at California State University, Los Angeles where he earned a BA in music, studied at the University of North Texas, earned a Masters of Music degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey under the tutelage of Kenny Barron, and an Artist Diploma from the world renowned Juilliard School. Chin has made four albums as a leader— 2008’s Blackout Conception, which featured saxophonist Mark Turner on four tracks; 2014’s Undercover; 2015’s Songs After Hours, a collection of pieces by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Harbison; and in 2016 his critically acclaimed album, Fifth. Currently on tour with Rene Marie, Chin was nominated for a Grammy for his work on her latest release, Sound Of Red in 2017 and is set to release an album in 2018 dedicated to the music of the late, Mose Allison.

Sasha Masakowski, daughter of jazz guitar luminary Steve Masakowski, was born and raised in New

Orleans, Louisiana and has been a leading artist on the New Orleans music scene for many years as a vocalist, composer and producer.

Offbeat Magazine calls her “One of the brightest young talents in the Big Easy,” Vanity Fair Magazine recently listed Sasha as one of the top jazz musicians in the world and December 2015 issue of Downbeat Magazine named Sasha among the most innovative musicians coming out of New Orleans to date.

In 2017 and 2018 alone, Sasha has headlined major clubs and festivals across the United States and

abroad, such as the legendary Blue Note (NYC), Jazz Standard (NYC), Detroit Jazz Festival, SF Jazz

Center (San Francisco), Copenhagen Jazz Festival, San Jose Jazz Festival, and New Orleans Jazz and

Heritage Festival, among others.

Sasha’s approach to music is as playful, charismatic, and spontaneous as her personality. Her influences draw from jazz to electronic music to rock and she performs frequently in fully improvised settings to help cultivate her exotic style. Sasha has earned a reputation internationally as a daring, fearless improviser and a charming interpreter, working often alongside other progressive, genre-defying musicians such as Cliff Hines, Jason Lindner, Zach Danziger, Tim Lefebvre, Sullivan Fortner, Mike Moreno and Aurora Nealand, to name a few.

composer and performer. She currently leads two bands of her own that range from New Orleans modern jazz (Art Market) to electronic art-rock (Tra$h Magnolia).

In February 2018, Sasha was formally invited by national Danish arts program JazzDanmark to be

Artist-in-Resident, where she collaborated with leading Danish jazz artists, taught composition and

electronic production at two prestigious Danish music conservatories, recorded an album of original music arranged and performed by the Pagsberg Big Band, and toured the country performing extensively for 6 weeks. Upon returning to the U.S., Sasha signed a deal with Ropeadope Records and on June 8th, 2018 released her latest album Art Market to critical acclaim.

Joe Dyson Bio

New Orleans native Joe Dyson has certainly been one to watch. He started playing music in his family's church at just two years old. After being noticed for his peculiar talent, Joe was placed in the Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong Summer Jazz Camp where he was shadowed by the late, great clarinetist Alvin Batiste, and his longtime bandleader and mentor, alto saxophonist Donald Harrison. He went on to graduate from the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), and earned a Presidential Scholarship to his alma mater Berklee College of Music.

Joe has shared the stage with Dr. Lonnie Smith, Ellis Marsalis, Christian ScottaTunde Adjuah, Jon Batiste, Leo Nocentelli, Sullivan Fortner, Dirty Dozen Brass Band,Paquito D’Rivera, Grammy Award winners Nicholas Payton & Esperanza Spalding,among others.

As a musician, Joe has traveled across the globe extensively, performing throughout Europe, Brazil, Japan and South Africa. He has appeared on over 28 albums, including recent releases EVOLUTION by Dr. Lonnie Smith, (Blue Note Universal Records),Sullivan Fortner's ARIA (Impulse Universal Records) and Christian aTunde Adjuah's STRETCH MUSIC (Ropeadope Records).

In addition to touring and recording, Joe has made appearances on the HBO hit series TREME, and can be seen performing in the documentary titled Been In The Storm Too Long, hosted by Tavis Smiley. He can also be heard on the movie soundtrack Rachel Getting Married, by Oscar-winning director Jonathan Demme.

In 2015, Joe became an adjunct professor at Tulane University. For the past four years, Joe still finds the time to give back to his community through a benefit concert he created entitled "Christmas in Treme." The proceeds help fund Holy Faith Temple B.C.’s outreach programs, including Food and Pantry, Computer Literacy and Vacation Bible School.After releasing music with longtime friends The Bridge Trio, Joe is currently working on his debut album.

A member of New York City’s creative music community, Brooklyn-residing bassist,composer, and educator John Tate has performed throughout North America, Central America, South America, Europe, and Australia with musicians including Von Freeman, Matt Wilson, Marquis Hill, Tony Malaby, Ben Monder, Jeff Parker, Carl Allen, Rodney Jones, Bill Carrothers, Victor Goines, and George Fludas, among others.

Tate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Performance from Northern Illinois University and an Artist Diploma in Jazz Studies from the Juilliard School. During his time at Juilliard, Tate was an apprentice of distinguished bassist and pedagogue Ron Carter.
