牙买加华籍 Roots Reggae 传奇歌手, 艺名包括 Ricky Storme 和 Errol Kong.
他是牙买加华人*制作人 Leslie Kong 的侄子, 成长中经常到他叔叔的录音室， 沉浸在重多经典人物之中, 包括 Bob Marley. I Kong 的爸爸是牙买加的中国人, 妈妈是牙买加的非洲人. 在他访问之中， 他提到与爸爸那访的亲人不是太接近, 因为妈妈是黑人. 混血还没有太流行的年代, 成长道路障碍重重. 音乐成为了他情感的出口.
他的朋友经常是 Nyabinghi的成员，因此 I Kong 也经常被带上参加他们的 Nyabinghi 聚会, 受到 Rasta 的思想洗礼.. 找到了信仰.
I Kong 是* Ska/Rocksteady 乐队 “The Jamaicans” 的建队成员, 写下 经典传奇歌曲《Ba Ba Boom》！
之后, 他也以 "Bunny & Ricky" 的名字在 Lee Perry 的 Upsetter 厂牌出版了一些重要作品. 合作期间, Lee Perry 认同 I Kong 的铜管乐写作能力. 随后, 队友 Bunny Rugs 建立 “Third World” 乐队成为主唱.
79年, I Kong 发行的了专辑《The Way It Is》
巨大的制作团队, 包括 Wailers 的 Family Man, Skatalites 的 Tommy McCook 和*牙买加华人 Geoffery Chung, Mikey Chung, Robert Lyn, 等传奇人物. 2006年, 在牙买加的*雷鬼厂牌 “VP唱片” 推出了重出版CD, 再次大力推广到全球现代雷鬼频道, 乐迷和喜爱者.
2015年再次成为了雷鬼国际乐迷的焦点所在! 《The Way It Is》专辑已时隔近40年. Rockers 电影的主角 Horsemouth 的门生 瑞士乐队 “Najavibes”, 慕名到牙买加请他录制一个新的专辑 《A Little Walk》. 成功让这一个年代的雷鬼乐迷认识 I Kong!
在两年后, 发行了《Pass It On》. 在全球得到高度评价. 《Pass It On》专辑里其中一曲合作的歌手是来自牙买加的 Raging Fyah，其中一队*的年青Roots雷鬼乐队. MV中的星级乐手包括有 Inna Di Yard 的结他手 Earl "Chinna" Smith，*键琴手Robbie Lyn.
《Pass It On》意思是 "传授下去"

到了现在, 他每年拿着中国, 牙买加和经过的欧洲*的国旗巡迥 (图中是在瑞士). 当中包括, 英国*型的雷鬼音乐节 One Love Festival. 把 Rasta 知识推广到年青一代之中.

I Kong is a legendary Chine Jamaican Roots Reggae Singer that has transcended eras to bring messages for the masses. Returning to his forefather's land for his first time at the golden age of 73, we are honoured to witness the home return of I Kong.
If reggae music is the universal cry of poverty, then singers like I Kong embodies the best of its many messengers. He is one of the most clear and shining examples that suffering can cause great art, and be understood and appreciated by the masses regardless where they are on earth.
His music hits home, grabs your emotions, takes you to a place where you’ve never been but wish you had, and sometimes you’re glad you’ve never been, either. The message made that all too clear, but you’re thankful that you’ve heard it.
THE WAY IT WAS
I Kong’s voice is one of the most delightful you could ever wish to hear. I Kong, the nephew of legendary Beverley’s producer, Leslie Kong, was born Errol Kong. He was a founding member of The Jamaicans, recorded one of the most famous rock steady songs, ‘Ba Ba Boom’, in the late 1960’s.
He embarked on a solo career and cut the all-time classic ‘The Way It Is’ in 1972, a true sufferer’s anthem. I Kong’s debut album, titled ‘The Way It Is’, came out in 1978. It saw a reissue on CD, also including a bunch of unreleased dub mixes on VP Records. It was followed by a new release in over twenty-five years, ‘The Forgotten Man’, a collection of previously unreleased songs, remixes, and new tracks.
