RHONDA

Rhonda is a music project started in 2014 in Beijing by 4 friends coming from Italy and USA. Drawing influences from post-rock, post-punk, progressive metal and math rock, they have dedicated themselves to create instrumental music which combines melody and aggression. After a couple line-up changes following the departure of two of their original members, the band now consists of Tommaso (guitar), Nico (bass), Yiyi (drums), Antoine (guitar).

With so many into their collaboration, they are at an impasse in terms of their style: Post-rock? Post-punk? Post-hardcore? Post-metal? Post-anything? As it stands, who gives a fuck about genre anyway? This instrumental three-piece lets their guitars, bass and drums do the talking for them. Come if you want to see a band who draws on influences from Mogwai and Sonic Youth to Tool and Fugazi. What more needs to be said?

Not content to be just playing in bands and open-mics, he took to the turntables to fuse and merge new sounds together. From 70s punk to Classic Chinese yaogun, expect to hear the unexpected.
