1988年于英国牛津成立的 Ride，由 Andy Bell、Mark Gardener、Laurence Colbert 与 Steve Queralt 组成。 90年代早期与My Bloody Valentine、Slowdive 等并列为*影响力的瞪鞋乐团，首张专辑《Nowhere》更被选为*重要的瞪鞋专辑之一，如同封面所暗示：在蓝色海平面下层层堆砌的漩涡之声。第二张完整度更高的《Going Blank Again》大受好评，而后的《Carnival of Light》却得到了两极化的评价，1996年的《Tarantula》终于成为了乐团的「分手专辑」，Ride 宣布解散，仅在2001年为Sonic Youth 的电视纪录片短暂聚首演出20分钟。分道扬镳之后，团员们陆续展开各自的全新旅程，**的莫过加入 Oasis 弹贝斯的 Andy Bell。而随着近年My Bloody Valentine、Slowdive、Jesus and Mary Chain 的重组热潮，加上Oasis、Beady Eye 的正式散解，Ride 终于在2014年宣布回归，以原始阵容之姿再度踏上巡回，甚至在隔年盛大展开《Nowhere》发行25周年的Nowhere 25 全球巡演。

当My Bloody Valentine、Slowdive 接连释出新作，Ride 也在2017年夏天推出睽违20年的全新专辑《Weather Diaries》，同样找来负责《Nowhere》《Going Blank Again》的老战友Alan Moulder 操刀制作。一如其他被归类于「瞪鞋」的乐团，Ride 同样讨厌被贴上「shoegaze」的标签，但在他们的音乐中，你的确可以感受到如迷雾般重叠上升的朦胧音墙，以及回异于MBV、Slowdive 的明亮英式摇滚旋律；青春不羁与嘈杂迷幻共存一体，这样的音乐，只有在Ride 身上可以听见。

Ride are a British Rock band that formed in 1988 in Oxford England, consisting of Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence "Loz" Colbert, and Steve Queralt. The band were initially part of the "shoegazine" scene that emerged in England during the early 1990s. Following the break-up of the band in 1996, members moved on to various other projects, most notably Bell who became the bassist for Oasis. In 2001, the band briefly reunited for a one-off performance for a television show. Ride announced their second reunion in November 2014 and in 2015 released their first studio album "Weather Diaries" in 20 years, which is highly acclaimed by fans and critic writers all over the world. 

Ride are seen as one of the important bands of the shoegazing genre, often associated with My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive as top 3 greatest shoegaze bands according to fans worldwide. Upon the invitation of Beijing based promoter Haze Sounds, Ride will come to mainland China for the first time at the end of their 2018 Asia Tour. There are two shows: Modernsky lab in Shanghai on Feb 28 and Tango Live in Beijing on Mar 1. You don't want to miss them!
