BAND

Parakeet is a group of musicians from all over the world that met in Beijing and started playing together. Their style is a mix of smooth jazz, blues and soul music.

They are inspired by mostly classical jazz music with most of them having played jazz for many years .

Vocals: Kim (India) is a singer songwriter from India. Trained in Choir music from a very young age, she started singing for the love of jazz and all things classic.

Keys: Thierry (France) was trained in the conservatory of Toulon, France before learning jazz music in Paris. He has played in many bands in Beijing and now hosts open mic at lush in wudaokou.

Violin: Samuel(USA) has been passionate about the violin since he was 9 years old. Graduated with honors in music from colorado state university - violin performance. He has played with the Cheza string quartet and toured the world playing many music festivals. 

Bass: Bae (China) trained at the Beijing MIDI music school and graduated with honors in music specializing in bass. He also has experiences in the performing arts but most notably loves playing jazz music.

Drums: Taylor (Canada) has been playing drums since he was 11 years old. He was part of the Toronto’s Royal Naval Reserve concert band and jazz. He has had experience with multitude genres of music including musical theatre pit bands to garage rock bands. But now he loves nothing more than playing jazz music.
