The jazz piano style of Marc Mangen is strongly shaped by his constant research on new harmonic and melodic possibilities . His eclectic style, which is nevertheless very personal, embraces almost the whole history of jazz piano .

As every jazz musician of his generation, he is mainly self-taught. Still a young guy, he had the chance to play with the best musicians of his area, from whom he learned all the basics and beyond.

Marc 在故乡卢森堡开始他的音乐学习，19 岁时转入 Strasbourg 音乐学院，师从伟大的法国钢琴家 Gérard Frémy, 在那里学习了四年。这是一段扎实的古典音乐训练；当时爵士乐的教育在欧洲音乐院校中并不普及。尽管如此，Marc 还是参加了 John Taylor 的一些爵士乐工作坊，约翰·泰勒对他产生了深远的影响。多年来，Marc 与众多著名音乐家合作演出，例如 Ted Curson, Uli Beckerhoff, Randy Brecker, Mark Turner, Itaru Oki, Didier Lockwood, Jean-Loup Lognon 等等。

Marc began his music studies in his homeland Luxembourg, and switched to Strasbourg Conservatory when he was 19, where he spent 4 years with the great French pianist Gérard Frémy. It was a thorough classical training; at those times the education of jazz music was not so widely established in European music schools . Nevertheless, Marc attended some jazz-workshops with John Taylor, who became a big inspiration for him. Over the years, Marc played with many famous musicians such as Ted Curson, Uli Beckerhoff, Randy Brecker, Mark Turner, Itaru Oki, Didier Lockwood, Jean-Loup Lognon, and many more.

除了爵士乐，马克还喜欢演奏古典管风琴。管风琴曲目涵盖七个世纪，远比古典钢琴曲目丰富得多。对他和来教堂的教友来说，发现这些伟大的音乐是一件非常愉快的事情。

Besides jazz, Marc enjoys playing classical organ. The repertoire of organ music covers seven centuries, much more than the classical piano repertoire. Discovering all this great music is a big pleasure for him and the people coming to church.

Born and raised in Cuba. Music has been a big part of Redis life. Started since he was 8 years old, he studied music in a conservatory and university until he became a licensed musician. Surrounded by a family of musicians and friends alike, he never stops going beyond his abilities. Played with famous musicians in Cuba. Collaborated with great musicians and has been traveling and working in China ever since. A musician that will never fail to impress.
