未来城市之光：马海平新专辑《折叠痕迹》全国巡演

马海平（MHP）不仅仅是电子音乐人，更是未来城市的描摹者。今年4月由大福唱片（D Force Records）发行的首张全长专辑《折叠痕迹 Folding Traces》*是他用声音勾勒出的未来主义城市光谱。“我的‘未来主义’是指那些已经发生过，或者从未发生过的未来”，这位“上海 Techno 之子”从梅雨季节的上海、日出中的墨尔本，以及电影《银翼杀手》的一幕幕场景汲取灵感，建构出光影交错、抽象而画面感十足的奇妙听觉世界。除了标志性的流畅和优雅，马海平在《折叠痕迹》的声音层次及乐器选择上进行了更加大胆的探索：复古的电气节拍与合成器架构融入更加温暖和充满动态的原声乐器；在精致而恢弘的电影配乐与直接而热烈的俱乐部舞曲这两种截然不同的气质之间，达到了一种微妙的平衡。

6月，马海平将带着这张独具灵性的新专辑，开始一次六城全国巡演，将未来之光投向城市深处。如果说录音版本能够*地体现出音乐的细腻和层次的话，现场的演绎增加的则是一个不可复制的身体维度。马海平将*携小号手夏豹、键盘手高家豪、DJ Jackie组成的特别阵容，带来交织都会爵士和 Tech-House 舞曲、融合高亲密度即兴段落和精细微妙电音 loop 的精彩演出。与专辑录制，曾和Gorillaz等乐队合作的古筝演奏家王萌也将参与北京、青岛、厦门和深圳四站的演出。

《折叠痕迹》数字与CD版本专辑已经于4月13日正式由北京厂牌大福唱片发行，黑胶版本也将于年内晚些与大家见面。唱片均将在现场进行销售。

Future City Spectrum: MHP Folding Traces Album Launch Tour

Ma Haiping (MHP) is not merely an electronic musician; he’s a prophet of future cities. Folding Traces, his debut full-length album for D Force Records, uses sound to sketch a spectrum, an outline of the ideal Futurist metropolis. “My ‘Futurism’ points at the futures that have already happened, or the futures that never happened,” he cryptically explains.

Ma Haiping, “Shanghai’s Techno Son”, draws inspiration from his home city’s monsoon season, from the sunrise in Melbourne, and from the retro-future aesthetic of sci-fi classics like Blade Runner to create an album of intertwining light and shadow, an abstract and scenic trip through a world of pure, cinematic sound. In addition to his music’s signature fluid grace, on Folding Traces MHP arranges his sonic ideas and carefully selects his instrumentation to present a bold new exploration, mashing classic four-on-the-four techno beats and cold synthesizer timbres with warmer and more dynamic acoustic instruments. The resulting sound moves between the worlds of abstract soundscapes and club-ready dance music, achieving a subtle balance between these night-and-day worlds.

And now MHP is ready to hit the road. Starting from this June, MHPwill carry out an album launch tour, to bring his work of genius to 6 places across the country, and cast the lights of the future into hearts of these cities. If listening to a  recording is the best way to experience the nuance and subtlety of a piece of music, live performance adds an unrepeatable, bodily dimension to it. Joined by trumpeter Xia Bao, keyboardistgaajaahaa, and DJ Jackie, MHP will perform a dazzling live set that’s expected to be afusion of metropolitan jazz, tech-house dance music, improvisation with high intimacy, and sophisticated electronic instrumental loop. Gu Zheng performer Mindy Meng Wang will join the band in Beijing, Qingdao, Xiamen and Shenzhen as well. 

Folding Traces will be officially released on digital and CD formats by Beijing label D Force Records on April 13, 2016; you’ll be able to get your hands on the vinyl edition later in the year.
