DeafheavenAmerican experimental-metal act Deafheaven first formed in San Francisco in 2010 with duo George Clarke and Kerry McCoy on vocals and guitars, respectively. Inspired by black metal, shoegaze, post-rock, alternative rock, and thrash metal, their demo caught the attention of Deathwish Inc, the label that released their first EP back in 2010. Deafheaven appeared as a quintet in their first full-length debut, Roads to Judah (2011), but three members parted ways the following year. With the release of their critically-acclaimed album, Sunbather (2013), the band recruited new members and toured across the globe. The following album, New Bermuda (2015), released with Anti- Records, reached No. 16 on Top Rock Album Chart. Their latest album, Ordinary Corrupt Human Love (2018), is an expansion of their trademark metal sound, with added psychedelic vocals, jazz percussion, and complicated piano melodies.
