金爵士文化产业管理有限公司名誉校长。2002年至2014年以全职爵士钢琴教授的身份任教于美国北德克萨斯州大学爵士音乐系,并担任钢琴科研主任,博士研究生导师。目前在德州大学阿灵顿分校任教爵士钢琴。任教期间,其学生屡次获得爵士乐奖项,其中包括“格美”奖、“Downbeat”爵士奖项、“雅马哈”国际艺术奖、“美国爵士钢琴比赛”大奖、以及各类国际性音乐奖项等。作为一名国际*的爵士音乐家,Stefan的演奏足迹布满了世界各地,包括中国、日本、韩国、泰国、芬兰、丹麦、苏格兰、意大利、法国、德国、西班牙以及美国等。并录制发行专辑超过80张。和Stefan一同活跃与世界各大舞台上的艺术家包括: Steve Gadd, Herb Ellis, Jim Ferguson, Lou Fischer, Carl Fontana, Tim Hagans, Steve Houghton, Clay Jenkins, Marc Johnson, Larry Koontz, Joe LaBarbera, Red Mitchell, Dick Oatts, Rich Perry, Chris Potter, Rufus Reid, Marvin‘Smitty” Smith, Bob Sheppard, Alex Sipiagin, Ed Soph, Marvin Stamm, Harvie Swartz, Tom Warrington 等等。同时,Stefan也是爵士音乐史标志性音乐家、格莱美奖得主Eddie Gomez三重奏乐队里的钢琴手。

 

A native of Sweden, Stefan came to the United States in 1984 to study at the University of North Texas.  Stefan spent six years at UNT earning bachelor and master degrees from UNT.

 

After having resided in Denver, Colorado (1991-1994), Las Vegas, Nevada (1994-2002), fulfilling his duties as Coordinator of Jazz Studies at UNLV, he was hired as professor in the division of jazz studies at the University of North Texas from 2002 to 2014. In 2015, Stefan joined the jazz studies program at the University of Texas at Arlington as Specialist/Jazz Artist-In-Residence. He has also been part of the Stanford Summer Jazz Workshops for eight years as a clinician and performer.

 

Stefan stays active as a performer and guest artist residencies at festivals, clubs, and universities worldwide.  His extensive travel has taken him both as a performer and educator to Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Scotland, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, and throughout the United States.  His discography includes 73 recordings with eight CD projects under his own leadership.  He has been a recording artist for Justice Records, Cambria/Troppe Note Records, Bebyne Records and Bolo Digital Records.

 

Jim White

Drummer Jim White is an active performer and educator. His first musical experiences took place in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, where he studied percussion with Paul Yancinch, Mike Cebulski, Sonny Emory, and Jeff Sipe. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Jazz Studies/Composition from Middle Tennessee State University, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas. While a student at the University of North Texas, White performed with the renowned “One O’clock Lab Band” for three years. In 1992, Maynard Ferguson recruited White for his “Big Bop Nouveau” band with which he toured internationally. White is featured on Ferguson’s recording, Footpath Cafe.

In 1995, White moved to Nashville, Tennessee where he remains active as a performer and studio musician. His versatility and unique sound have been featured on many jazz, pop, and country recordings. White’s performance and recording credits feature a diverse array of artists including J.D. Souther, Alison Krauss and Union Station, Crystal Gayle, Jerry Douglas, Curtis Stigers, Charlie Peacock, Jack Pearson, Pam Tillis, Lorrie Morgan, and Willie Nelson. In addition, he has performed with many top jazz artists including Dick Oatts, Terell Stafford, Joey Defrancesco, Pat Bianchi, Greg Gisbert, Jim Ferguson, Chris Potter, Annie Sellick, the North German Radio (N.D.R.) Big Band, and many others.

Jim White is proud to be an artist/clinician for Yamaha Drums, Sabian/Crescent Cymbals, Remo Drum Heads, Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets, and Humes & Berg Cases.

 

Mike Pope

Mike Pope is best described as a rare triple threat in the bass world. An equally capable acoustic and 6-string electric bass guitar, he is a world-renowned solo artist, sideman,composer and teacher . Additionally,he is a well-respected designer of high-end amplifiers , preamps and onboard active electronics. Raised in Ohio, Mike attended the University of North Texas, ultimately migrating to New York City at the recommendation of Michael Brecker, whom he met during a clinic at the school. Pope hit the ground running and began playing and recording with Michael and Randy Brecker, Chuck Loeb,Mike Stern, Joe Locke , Jeff “Tain”Watts and Al DiMeola. He released two solo albums,Walk Your Dogma and Lay of the Land, while amassing additional credits with Chick Corea, Bill Bruford, David Sanborn, Geoffrey Keezer, and Manhattan Transfer. Connecting with Fodera for a bass in the mid-90s,he began consulting on their electronics, eventually building the Pope/Fodera onboard preamp. Mike then branched out to start his own Michael Pope Design, currently selling his acclaimed Flex Core Premium Internal Bass Preamp. His designs are also found in Trickfish Amps. Mike continues to tour in support his critically-hailed third solo release, Cold Truth, Warm Heart.
