Detroit saxophonist De’Sean Jones is a world renowned musician, well regarded for his powerhouse sound and unique approach to modern jazz and electronic music.
His mentors include the late, great trumpeter/educator Marcus Belgrave and the late saxophonist Donald Walden.
De’Sean has performed with artists from many genres including Jazz bassist, Christian McBride, Hip Hop Artist Rick Ross, and has performed alongside the Iconic Stevie Wonder.
He is an active member of the legendary electronic music collective Underground Resistance.
For the past 7 years Jones has been touring the world and co-producing records with Techno Pioneer Mike Banks & keyboardist Jon Dixon.
At this point in his career, Jones is focused on creating and releasing new music.
His highly anticipated album Knomadik Reverence was released on August 14, 2015, and is quickly climbing the Billboard Jazz Charts.
De’Sean continues to compose genre bending music that is both soulful while thought-provoking.
Trumpeter and Massachusetts native Aaron Janik studied at Oberlin College of Arts and Sciences as well as the Conservatory of Music by way of the great Wendell Logan, graduating in 2013 with a Jazz Trumpet Performance Degree and a Biology (Pre-Medical) Degree. From that time on, Aaron has studied with and been mentored by trumpet greats Marcus Belgrave and Sean Jones. He has also been fortunate to study with Gary Bartz, Robin Eubanks and Billy Hart to name a few.
Aaron now resides in Detroit, Michigan where he educates music students across the city and regularly performs and records with artists across the country, touring with chart-topping artists like R&B First Lady Faith Evans, Dwele, Kierra Sheard (who released her new EP LED on 11/20), and jazz legend Robin Eubanks (who released his big band album More than Meets the Ear). In the past year he has also performed with Charlie Wilson, Les Nubians, the Clark Sisters, Gino Vanneli, Lisa Page-Brooks, Eric Roberson, and J Drew Sheard to name a few.
Janik's skills as a musician have afforded him opportunities to travel to numerous venues across the world.
He is also currently a part of a country-wide educational outreach initiative with the "Knomadik Project," that contains a musical collective of some of the most talented composers and musicians in the country educating children on musical possibilities and providing them with scholarship info to make the possibility of an affordable college education a much more real one. The band released its first album Knomadik Reverence in August and has four EPs set to be released over the next 24 months.
In addition to these tremendous opportunities Aaron Janik continues to hone his skills as an artist and arranger via Knomadik Horns (a Detroit-based Horn Section) along with recording his original music as a recoding artist on the Knomadik Record Label.
Aaron endorses B.A.C. trumpets and Denis Wick mouthpieces. He also endorses Strymon and Morley pedals as well as 64 Audio products.
