This Christmas Eve, DDC is putting on a party to give everybody left in Beijing some much needed festive cheer. Fresh off his South China winter tour, Su brings his motley crew The Paramecia to the venue to cap off a heavy year of releases and gigs. Support comes from The Harridans, returning with a new set of songs following the release of their much lauded debut album 'Fuzzing the Muse', as well as Royal as Purple, a band who have been exciting audiences recently with their blissed out psych rock. For those who need a bit of foot tapping at their christmas party we have DJ Bass Ventura A.K.A Dan (the trombone guy....you know him...right?) Expect a liberal amount of Will Smith deep cuts, circa 1994.

这个圣诞前夕DDC将举办一场摇滚趴，给留守北京的每一个朋友一个狂欢的选择。苏紫旭刚完成他(又一次的)南中国冬季巡演，将带着他的多国部队the Paramecia乐队参演，也是Paramecia奋进的一年的一次收官；另有英伦才子Daniel Taylor领衔的the Harridans乐队，今年他们发布了备受好评的首张专辑“Fuzzing the Muse”；以及Royal as Purple乐队，*近用他们迷幻的声音复活了不少观众；对于那些有派对*要有电音的朋友们，我们有DJ Bass Ventura 也*是Dan (吹长号的那家伙....你知道他...对吗？)

The Paramecia 是由根源唱作人、诗人苏紫旭发起的以原始创造力为基础，致力挖掘更多可能性的音乐项目，以乐队的形式呈现。2013年成立于南京，之后成员几经更迭，终于在一六年春，尘埃落定。风格融合根源民谣、世界音乐、前卫艺术摇滚，打破常规形式，以奇幻的旋律结合饱含思想性的歌词深沉爆发。

The Paramecia is a music project founded in Nanjing in 2013 by singer-songwriter and poet Su Zixu. Rooted in a distinctive creativity, the band integrates brass and strings with rock instrumentation to blend folk, world music and progressive rock. In their devotion to grandiosity and subtlety in equal parts, The Paramecia evoke musical landscapes and journeys of immense furore, as well as profound quietude. In their songs, both whispers and shrieks of poetic verse echo overtop ever changing harmonies; a butterfly's wings gently flap moments before it plummets into the abyss.

The Harridans:

The Harridans are a five piece band, formed in Beijing in the summer of 2014. Having released the single 'Moon TIger' in 2015, the group went on to record and release their debut album 'Fuzzing the Muse' the following year. Their sound has developed over the years to result in an intense but melancholic form of art rock, a sound that is at times both grand in its arrangement and intimate in its subject matter.

The Harridans是一支英国迷幻艺术摇滚乐队，乐队成立于2014年，以七十年代英国的民谣摇滚为风格，其作品透露出浓厚的民谣迷幻气质，结构编排细腻，音乐非常有力，感人，更具有一种神秘的感知与能量，致力于创作出美丽又使人神往的音乐，创作风格千变万化。2015年发行一首令人陶醉的Disco单曲Moon Tiger，2016年发行首张全长专辑”Fuzzing the Muse”。

Royal as Purple:

Royal as Purple是音乐制作人Melvin Wong从美国旧金山移居到北京后一手创立的个人乐团，2016年贝斯手北北和鼓手德思凡的加入，终于能够把现场的Royal as Purpe体验带给大家。Melvin独自一人包办了作曲、作词、编曲与制作，目标是想把自己一直在美国所创作的，结合了摇滚、迷幻，电子与流行元素的音乐，带给中国的听众。

Melvin拥有丰富的唱片制作和现场制作经验。他曾与数百位外国乐团/艺人合作过，包括Arcade Fire、 Ms Mr、The Mars Volta、 Dead Kennedys 、American Authors 与 Run DMC等等，但一直还未实现在中国音乐圈发展的梦想。由于美国的工作实在繁忙，他终于在2014年底下定决心将重心从制作他人的音乐转回为自己制作音乐。2015年的夏天定居北京，并以此为新的事业出发点。

DJ: Bass Ventura

One dark and gloomy night many years ago, three friends huddled round an ashtray, discussing how silly a DJ alias could get. With “William Scratchner” and “Ted Dancin” to compete with, it's safe to say the pressure was on. A few days later, “Bass Ventura – Pitch Detective” was born.

Specializing in not-so-serious party tunes, BV's mission has since been to get the crowd moving… or at least nodding their head and/or tapping their toes.

The not-so-super-secret-song-selector has played at humble Hutong parties, swanky Sanlitun soirees, and even grandiose weddings in North Carolina, USA (lots of Beyonce), but for this most festive of events, his focus will be on bringing the heat to DDC.

Expect to hear tunes you swear you've heard before, and maybe some you wish you hadn't, but if there's one thing for certain - Bass Ventura will make your hangover worthwhile.
